A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense, and is, thereby, a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety. (Anselm Adams)
Multilingual and university-educated, Bela is a London-based, Czechoslovakia-born, published photographer specialising in events, family portraiture and travel photography.
Bela's gift is to see the world around her in all its beauty and splendour and her skill is to capture the ephemeral nature of life-defining moments - thus bringing past into present and saving it for future. She is passionate about her work, the people she meets and the places she visits.
Her style could be described as photojournalistic as she captures events as they evolve - but rather than being typecast, she prefers to be described as 'a witness to creation'.
Her experience, sense of anticipation and ability to connect with people with ease bring out the humanity in her photographs. Or perhaps she is just good at expressing 'joie de vivre', zest for life accompanied by joyous sensualism.
Bela enjoys the challenge of working with natural light and expressing her observations through the lens. She does minimum to no retouching and uses the Canon EOS 5D and Canon EOS 1D cameras.
